What is creativity?

  • Love

  • expansion; comes by accepting ones' self just as he or she is and every moment, just as it is, staying focused inside one's heart or center

  • giving

Blocks to Creativity

  • negativity; ego-based behavior; "I & Mine" separation

  • previous programming of mind

  • poor environment (not conducive to silencing the mind)

  • lack of self-discipline; (regular schedule helpful)

Aids to Remove Blocks

  • affirmations for self-acceptance

  • meditation--one-pointedness

  • take walk; get up and move; do something else for a while

  • associate with other creative people; stay away from negative people

  • relax and let go; let go of past limitations and programming

  • don't be afraid to try new things every day; don't keep doing the same thing all the time; don't get stagnant

  • don't worry about what other people will say

  • develop love and compassion for all beings--that is the root of all expansion

  • become a tree or a flower, etc.; that opens new creative channels

  • teach others what you know, and more will be given to you

  • train your senses to become more acute and aware; go through each sense and become aware (sight, smell, touch)

  • deep breathing releases stagnation

  • chanting or toning

  • spend time in nature

  • writing with left or non-dominant hand

  • raise your vibrations higher, above the problem, and the problem dissolves; stay in love with each precious moment so no negativity can invade

  • when feeling negative, go outside at night & gaze at the stars--it will always make us aware of how small we are & how big God is

  • essential oils

  • alternate nostril breathing

  • relax when tired--do not tax the creative channel

How

  • centering on an emotion inside; let the emotion mold a theme; chose an emotion that inspires and uplifts; what do you want to communicate?

  • observe nature; she can teach us

  • feel all the senses; they seem to help us go deeper inside

  • lay down on the grass; become the grass--this leads us to a higher height

  • allow images to form in the mind's eye

  • take a paper and pencil with you at all times to jot down ideas and inspiration or a tape recorder for stream of consciousness--written and speech
